When we ponder over verses in the Qur'an and study the Sunnah of our beloved Master, Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), we learn the great meaning of "as-Siraat al-Mustaqeem." It is the way of the pious prophets and their followers. This is the lifestyle that we all should aspire to live by, and it is the way of obedience to Allah and His Messenger (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) . When we are reminded to go back to the way of the Qur'an and Sunnah, it shouldn't be confused with going back to an ancient way of life. Rather we must return to a way of understanding the Book of Allah through the guidance of Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), his companions, & those who learned from them. This is the Straight Path which we all yearn to follow.
